Regional Curriculum Development Committee

The Region One
Curriculum Development Committee

The primary role of the Region One Curriculum Development Committee is to establish a cycle of review, design, implementation and evaluation of all curricula in the Region One K-12 system. This committee is supported by funding through the Professional Development Committee. Additionally, the committee functions to:

  • oversee the development and continued operation of standing  curriculum committees for each curriculum area in the Region One K-12 program
  • establish a communication link with the Professional Development Program Committee
  • assist in the development and implementation of regional level professional development programs to support regional curriculum initiatives
  • develop evaluative guidelines for regional curriculum that include analysis of student learning
  • oversee on-going assessment and evaluation of all regional curriculum
  • assist in the identification of appropriate personnel, programs, and human resources for professional development programs and activities at the regional and local levels
  • align regional curriculum to the State of Connecticut Frameworks for K-12 content standards and future state curriculum guidelines

  • Assistant Superintendent as Coordinator
  • All principals
  • Representatives from Pupil Services
  • Representatives from the Region One Professional Development Committee
  • Facilitator of each standing curriculum committee

Meetings

The Committee will meet semi-annually, with the option of additional meetings, if necessary.
