We congratulate you on accepting your position within Regional School District #1. By now you should have signed your contract, completed the hiring paperwork packet distributed through Region One Central Office and had your fingerprinting done for the region. All of this needs to be completed prior to your start of work. In your hiring packet you have also received a copy of your district's teacher contract, a copy of the sexual harrassment policy and the school calendar for the coming school year.

As a new teacher to the region, a great deal will be expected from you in the coming weeks. Please don't hesitate to contact a faculty member, your principal or Central Office with any questions or concerns you may have. We are all here to help you through this hectic time.

Regular meetings for New Teachers are scheduled throughout the year and held at Central Office with the Assistant Superintendent or the Superintendent. Your attendance at these meetings gives you an opportunity to be introduced to the workings of the region, offers ideas on transitioning into your new position and is a time to answer any questions or discuss any problems you may have. Please take time to review the rest of our website and the websites of other schools in the region. All contain valuable information - many with forms and materials related to your day to day functioning in the system. As we have stressed before, don't hesitate to ask for help - from any faculty member, administrator or the Central Office staff. Our job is to make your transition to Region One a smooth and enjoyable one.
