11/23/2021 Thanksgiving Letter

Dear Region 1 Families,

I hope that this letter finds you well and looking forward to a festive and restful Thanksgiving break with friends and family. The continued presence of COVID-19 in our communities has made this school year much more challenging than we expected and I am writing today, on behalf of all of the Region 1 staff, to say thank you for working together with us to face the challenges so that we can keep our students safely in school. Your partnership remains critical to successfully co-existing with the COVID-19 virus now and in the future. So, at this time of giving thanks, we want to be sure that we express our gratitude for all of your support as we negotiate the twists and turns of the pandemic and its impact on all of us.

For those of you who are traveling or attending large Thanksgiving gatherings, I am linking the Region 1 Travel Advisory and Holiday Activities FAQ. We appreciate your efforts in following the protocols included in this document to keep you and all of us safe during and after the holiday.

The Thanksgiving holiday is a wonderful opportunity to take a much needed pause from our day-to-day routines. We hope that you enjoy the time, the good food and the companionship that are included in its celebration and we look forward to seeing the students when they return next week.

Sincerely, Lisa B. Carter
Superintendent
