Family Resources

"It takes a village to raise a child" is an African proverb; it means the entire community must provide and protect their children so they can grow into good and knowledgeable citizens. Region 1 schools embody that phrase; each of our schools strive to develop strong relationships with parents and community members to make this happen. Experience has taught us that the stronger those bonds are, the more likely we are to see students graduate having had an engaging educational experience.
This section contains resources that we hope will be useful to you and your family. We also want to make sure you are aware of Housatonic Youth Service Bureau (HYSB), as it works with Region 1 families to strengthen the emotional health of our youth and families. HYSB is an independent non-profit with offices on the HVRHS campus; they provide free behavioral health services and empowerment programs in partnership with our public schools, local organizations, donors, and volunteers.
